Elite National Championships Team Coaches

APPLICATION DEADLINE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11 AT 11:59 PM

Boxing Ontario is seeking Coaches to support the Provincial Team at the 2026 Elite National Championships on November 15-21 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Two coaching positions are available with 1 female coach minimum. Selected coaches will also be responsible for running training camp(s) for the Provincial Team leading up to Nationals.

Eligibility

Coaches wishing to be considered by Boxing Ontario must be:

Minimum Competition Introduction certified.
A member in good standing with Boxing Ontario (PSO) and Boxing Canada.
Available Nov. 15 – 21, 2026 for the entire duration of Nationals.
Has completed the following modules:
1. Safe Sport Training – (Located under the E-Learning tab on The Locker)
2. Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
3. Making Head Way in Sport – (Found under the E-Learning tab on The Locker)
Coaches must sign a Code of Conduct and complete background checks as applicable. Ensure that your police check is up to date (within 3 years), or you must provide a new one.

Other factors taken into consideration for your application:

Experience as a boxer
Examples of success as a coach (ie. provincial and national champions)
Examples of being a good leader and communicator
Attendance and leadership at previous training camps
Availability for a potential team training camp on October 25. Team Coaches must develop a training itinerary and execute the training camp.

Provide a summary of your coaching experience in the sport of boxing and highlight any of your particular skills or attributes that would suit the role of Team Coach. (For example, boxing successes within your own boxing club and your role in those successes; any relevant education that could be utilized while coaching; experience as an athlete and/or coach on Provincial or National Teams; experience demonstrating leadership and communication skills; etc.)
