BRAMPTON, ON — October 12, 2026 — Boxing Ontario is inviting residents from Brampton and across the province to experience the 2026 Golden Gloves Provincial Championships, taking place October 15–18, 2026, at Brampton Memorial Arena.
Over four action-packed days, some of the best Olympic-style boxers in Ontario will step into the ring, competing fiercely while showcasing the skill, technique, discipline and heart that define the sport.
Provincial champions will be crowned, and for many athletes, the Golden Gloves represents an important step in their competitive pathway, with opportunities to advance toward national-level competition and potentially begin a journey that could one day lead to representing Canada on the Olympic stage.
“Bringing the Golden Gloves Provincial Championships to Brampton is something I’m incredibly proud of — both as President of Boxing Ontario and as a City Councillor in the city I call home,” said Rod Power, President of Boxing Ontario and Brampton City Councillor.
“Boxing has an incredible ability to bring people together. Behind every athlete who steps into that ring are years of training, sacrifice, discipline and determination. For some, this championship will be the biggest competition of their career so far. For others, it could be the beginning of a journey to Nationals and beyond.”
Power added that hosting the championships in Brampton provides an opportunity to introduce a new audience to Olympic-style boxing.
“You don’t have to be a lifelong boxing fan to enjoy the Golden Gloves. If you’ve ever been curious about boxing, want to see high-level amateur sport up close, or are simply looking for a truly unique experience, come to Memorial Arena. There is nothing quite like the atmosphere of live boxing, and this is an opportunity to see some of Ontario’s best athletes compete right here in Brampton.”
The championships will feature two rings and six competition sessions over four days, bringing together athletes, coaches, officials, families and boxing clubs from across Ontario.
