Coach Daron Abdullah Laban began teaching boxing in response to persistent requests from youth in his Scarborough community. As interest grew, he founded Scarberian Boxing Club to share his knowledge of boxing while helping young people build the skills needed for success in life.
Having grown up facing his own challenges and later becoming a successful entrepreneur, Daron was driven to give back and create positive change. His brother Marlon and friend Raza Mohammad believed in his vision and quickly joined him in building the club. Together, they have expanded programming to include both recreational and competitive options for youth and adults alike.
Unlike larger facilities where members can feel overlooked, Scarberian offers an intimate, community-focused environment. This allows for meaningful connections with coaches and personalized support to help every member learn and progress.
Since 2010, Scarberian Boxing Club has helped members build strength, skill, fitness, and confidence—while also producing numerous gold medal champions.
